A Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) will need to visit your property to assess its energy performance.
Our DEA is (and must be) a member of a government approved accreditation scheme and insured for Public Liability and holds Professional Indemnity Insurance. The DEA is security checked by the scheme. As a householder there are certain steps you can take to enhance your properties energy efficiency before the assessor calls. One simple tip is to replace all your old lightbulbs in your fixed lighting with energy saving bulbs. Make sure the inspector can see all the measures you have in place to save energy such as insulation, Jackets on cylinders, any renewable energy you are producing. If it is not visible installation certificates may be taken into consideration. Have these ready for the DEA. www.homeinformationpacks.gov.uk www.energysavingtrust.org.uk www.campaigns.direct.gov.uk |
